Public Art Agency Sweden is a government agency whose mission is to explore and develop the interaction between contemporary art and public space through site-specific art, temporary interventions, urban development projects, symposiums, discussions and publications.

Public Art Agency Sweden was founded in 1937. The original task of the agency was to provide artworks to government buildings and public spaces through purchases and commissions, but after 75 years in existence the agency’s mission needed to be reconsidered. In 2012 Public Art Agency Sweden received a new director with a mandate to modernize the agency and formulate a new mission, more relevant to the contemporary discourse on art and public space.

As part of this major transformation of a government agency a new brand identity was ordered – and Boco was contacted to work closely with the director and the internal communications department to both develop and structure content for the new website and write the final copy. An important part of the project also included creating a new approach, verbal identity and tone of voice to reflect the agency’s updated mission.
